Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough
A solo guitar reimagining of this iconic Michael Jackson classic
You know it. I bet you love it. It was Michael Jackson’s first bona-fide hit when he broke away from the Jackson 5 and started his solo career. It’s Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough and it’s catchy as hell.
With its lush strings, tight horns, rock solid rhythm section, and MJ’s inimitable falsetto, am I foolish for attempting to play this on a solo guitar? Probably. But a fool’s gotta try stuff out. This version is not the whole song. That would be self indulgent and tiring to you, dear listener. It’s a just a quick taste of it.
To make this work, I reached for my 7 string guitar to get those bass notes happening and employed a looper pedal to build up the rhythm section.
